Downtown pairs a concentrated working district with some of Los Angeles’s most substantial cultural destinations. House-made bread, pasta and pizza anchor this Italian restaurant in Maguire Gardens beside the Central Library. It gives a Fifth Street property visit a natural lunch or dinner stop in a garden setting.
Italian and Sicilian cooking, handmade pasta and a wine program make Drago a choice for a longer conversation near the office towers. Its private rooms also provide options for planned group meals.
The market brings independent food vendors together under one roof on Broadway. It is useful when a group wants several choices, or when a property tour calls for an informal lunch; individual vendors keep their own hours.
A rooftop dining room, outdoor patios and a separate rooftop bar give Perch several ways to experience the skyline. Book a table for a meal or check the bar’s current arrangements for an evening stop.
Downtown’s art experience moves between major contemporary museums and work commissioned for civic buildings. The Central Library is especially close to Fifth Street: its historic rotunda and modern atrium make two different kinds of art encounter possible in one visit.

The Broad
221 S Grand Ave
Postwar and contemporary art on Grand Avenue, with a collection that rewards repeat visits. Reserve museum admission ahead; Infinity Mirror Room access has separate reservation requirements.
MOCA’s Grand Avenue museum anchors the Bunker Hill gallery circuit. Its exhibitions offer another point of view on contemporary art within the same cultural corridor as The Broad.
Dean Cornwell’s rotunda paintings and the Tom Bradley Wing’s commissioned artworks turn a library visit into a compact survey of civic art. Look upward for Therman Statom’s colorful chandeliers.
Cornwell’s large paintings encircle the rotunda with scenes from California history. Their scale makes the room itself part of the viewing experience, offering a historical counterpoint to the contemporary public art in the adjoining Bradley Wing.
Three monumental chandeliers suspend color and expressive forms over the Bradley Wing atrium. Statom’s work transforms functional lighting into an artwork encountered from several floors, making the library’s vertical space central to the experience.
Artist connections describe documented works or exhibitions. Check museum access and current displays before visiting; featured artists are not presented as tenants or owners of the property.
